Hello beauties! I know many of you know me, however I am getting an influx of new visitors to my website and I’m sure many of you don’t. I thought that it might be fun to share a little bit about myself and answer some questions that I am often asked. I figured the easiest way to do this would be to launch a blog so that these posts will be easily accessible for you all in one location. xx Megan
Q: WILL YOU SHARE WITH US A BRIEF INTRODUCTION ABOUT YOURSELF, YOUR BACKGROUND, AND EDUCATION?
My name is Megan Frasier. I grew up in a small town called Walla Walla, WA which is about 4 hours from where I am currently living now in the Vancouver/PDX Metro Area. I am a true PNW girl at heart. Growing up with the gorgeous Columbia River Gorge just a few minutes away, I have been spoiled rotten with beauty and absolutely love getting out to enjoy a glorious hike. I have a one year old goldendoodle puppy named Oliver, he keeps me active rain or shine. We love adventures.
I am a nurse practitioner. I graduated from Gonzaga University back in 2017 with my FNP and am board certified. Prior to opening up my own practice I was initially a Primary Care Provider. My first year in practice was a low point in my life. I moved away for a job offer to the Puget Sound area. I didn’t know anyone, I worked a lot (it was a huge adjustment period) and I realized that being a PCP was not what I wanted to do long term. Long hours, charting from home, taking calls, filling refills, reviewing faxes and labs on the weekend was not what I had envisioned. I knew that eventually I wanted to settle down, hopefully start a family some day and I wanted to find a better work life balance. Also, working in a corporate setting there were high demands, metrics to meet and very little time to have an office visit with patients (actual face to face time) and I am the kind of person that loves to interact with people, answer questions, provide education and make their experiences quality. Prior to being an NP I had been a bedside nurse for about 9 years and absolutely loved working with patients in that way. I graduated from Walla Walla University with my BSN.
I am thankful for all of my nursing experiences and even the ones that weren't my favorite led me to seek further education, certifications and a change in scenery that I will forever be so grateful for.
Q: WHAT DO YOU LIKE MOST ABOUT BEING A NURSE INJECTOR?
I think what I like most about being a nurse injector is watching people light up about their transformations and post treatment results as sometimes this has been things that they have been self conscious about for years. I love seeing their posts, their big smiling faces and knowing I helped to make their insecurity a little bit less. I also truly love being able to make my own schedule, deciding how long I want to spend doing a procedure and not feeling that I have to rush patients out the door, or skip answering some questions that you may have because I am on a corporate time crunch. That has been one of the best things for me.
Q: WHAT IS YOUR PERSONAL FAVORITE SERVICE AND WHY?
Ok, this one is a toughy! I LOVE Botox!! I feel that over the past 3 or so years since I have been consistent with this treatment my face has completely transformed. I have no more static lines at rest and it is amazing!! I used to be really self conscious about my forehead even in my teens, early twenties and I would always wear bangs to the side to cover them up! Now my forehead is smooth as a baby's bottom and I couldn’t be happier. I also used to have severe migraines ever since I could remember. I was taking a daily prophylactic medication called topamax also known as “dopamax” and I felt that it did make me forget words at times, which I hated. I actually had to request an FMLA when I worked at a corporate office because you could only call out sick 3 times/year and I had migraines much more often than that. I had to pull over once because I lost my sight and was throwing up so a friend had to pick me up, and once while at the office I lost my sight and was unable to grasp my pencil. Since having routine botox in my frontalis, glabella and masseters my migraines have decreased dramatically and I have gotten them maybe once every six months and am no longer taking a daily medication. That has really been a game changer for me.
I would say close second is medical grade skin care. I use a ZO regimen currently and that has also transformed my face! I used to always wear makeup and spend endless hours getting ready to leave the house. Now I feel so confident in my skin - that I like myself better without loads of makeup.
It's really a toss up between botox and medical grade skin care for me.
Q: WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE THING TO DO OUTSIDE OF WORK?
My motto is: Work hard, play hard!
I enjoy being at home, hosting guests and going home to Walla Walla to visit my family. I enjoy baking and cooking for them when they are here and also enjoy going to my grandmas for Sabbath lunch.
I really love traveling, covid put a bit of a damper on that. My boyfriend lives in CA, so we often will take turns visiting each other or meeting somewhere for a long weekend which has been fun to explore some places in the US that I may not have gone to otherwise.
I love wine tasting. I am a big fan of the Napa/Sonoma Valley and like to visit there often. One of my childhood best friends moved there about 10 years ago and every Memorial Day weekend we attend a music festival in Napa called Bottlerock, I would say that is a yearly highlight.
I love spending time with my puppy Oliver and going on our daily adventures. We have a number of favorite trails right around home and it's really nice to get outside and decompress on the daily, I usually listen to a podcast while we are out and about.
